The Action Sensor Ecosystem is an artificial Ecosystem architecture with an enclosed interior environment. The device is equipped with a water pump and a light, to provide life-giving elements to this interior environment. These mechanisms are activated by a motion sensor attached to the unit, so any provision of water or light is in direct relationship to movement around it. The amount of activity around the unit determines what types of life can be sustained.

Soil, consisting mainly of composted dog feces, was placed inside at the time of construction. No intentional selection of plants or animals was made.
